Terms of service

Last updated October 28, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Amos. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. They’re written to be read, so please do.

The service

Amos answers questions with lessons, interactive visuals and practice, using an AI model and, if you add them, your own course materials. We keep improving it, so features may change. We’ll give notice before removing something you pay for.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
  • Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One person per account. Accounts can’t be shared or resold.

AI can be wrong

Lessons are written by an AI model. They’re checked in several ways, and calculations in interactive visuals use tested formulas, but explanations can still contain mistakes. Use Amos to learn, and check anything important against your course materials, textbook or instructor. Don’t rely on it for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.

Academic integrity

Amos is for understanding your coursework, not for handing in work that isn’t yours. Follow your school’s rules on using AI tools. You’re responsible for how you use what the app produces.

Your content

You own what you upload and what you write. You give us permission to store it, process it and send it to our service providers only to run the app for you, as the privacy policy describes. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

Only upload material you have the right to use, such as your own notes or course materials your instructor gave you for study. If you believe something on Amos infringes your rights, sign in and use Send feedback in the app and we’ll look into it.

Lessons generated for you are yours to use for your own learning.

Fair use

Please don’t:

  • break the law, or upload anything illegal, harmful or that isn’t yours to share;
  • try to get around usage allowances, for example by making several accounts;
  • scrape the app, overload it, or access it with automated tools other than a normal browser;
  • probe or attack our systems, except through the responsible disclosure process on the security page;
  • use the app to build a competing service, or to generate content to harass or deceive others.

Plans, billing and cancelling

  • Free has a usage allowance for each 5-hour window and each week. Paid plans (Pro and Max) have larger ones. Allowances are measured by how much AI processing your requests use, so a larger model uses more of them. A 5-hour window opens with your first request, and weekly allowances reset each Monday at midnight UTC.
  • Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. They renew automatically until you cancel.
  • You can switch plans or cancel any time from Settings → Plan → Manage billing. When you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then move to Free. Your courses and progress stay.
  • Payments aren’t refundable for partial periods, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a charge, sign in and use Send feedback in the app and we’ll make it right.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while; if it still fails, your account moves to Free.
  • We may change prices. If we do, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.

Ending your account

You can stop using Amos at any time and delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Deleting it cancels any paid plan straight away, without a refund for the rest of the period, and removes your content as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where we can, we’ll warn you first and tell you why. If we close a paid account without good reason, we’ll refund the unused part of the period.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep Amos accurate and available, but it’s provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, such as passing a particular exam.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost grades, time or data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if that’s more). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using Amos after that, the new terms apply.
